Hi Julia,
Sounds good and I hope it continues to be so. Hang in there.

Yahoo for a heartbeat! That's good - I'm still hopeful for you over here, too.
Hey, have you ever tried the 1/2 unisom and B6 vitamin thing for the nausea? I had some friends whose dr's offices recommended it for them. My own dr. just gave me zofran when I went in oon Tues. She took it herself, but there are no long-term studies. I took just 1/2 of a pill yesterday (still a bit freaked out by the idea, but I was DESPERATE) and it helped - A LOT. I was actually able to function for the first time in over a week.
Good luck, girl, and thanks for the highlights!!!

I don't like the sound of the tech or the radiologist, but you and your nausea? Those I love.

Thanks so much Julia for keeping us posted, even while you feel like hurling all over the computer. I'm so sorry you feel sick, but SO happy for that little heartbeat you saw. And BOO on bad techs ... they suck!!
Thinking and praying for you ...

Is Patrick potty-trained yet? If he isn't, I nominate Steve for full-time diaper duty. If he is, then Steve can do all the asswipes. Other than that, I have no suggestions for the nausea.
But yay! yay! yay!

Yay! Orange gatorade helped me. Were you this sick with Patrick?

Dispatches from the sink hit a little too close to home. I took B6, Unisom, Phenergan, Reglan, and Zofran. B6, Unisom and Zofran helped the most. I think my kids turned out okay (most of the time, anyway). I'm so sorry you're feeling sick and so hoping that it results in the best reason for being so miserable.

A heartbeat, yippee! I truly hope you feel better soon. I could hardly get out of bed until week 16 with Elle. It was really miserable. I did talk to Laura yesterday and she told me what a miracle that Zofran was. Maybe you should ask your doc about it? I took that other stuff they give preggos for nausea but it didn't help. In fact, it made me nauseous! Blech!

Yeah little bean! Yeah!!! Love to both Julia and baby bean.

So sorry for the nausea and the stupid people in charge of the technical equipment. I went to MN Perinatal Clinic in St. Paul (I think it's part of United Hospital) for a nuchal fold scan and amnio and they seemed to have most excellent machines and people knowledgeable in their operation!
Keeping everything crossed for you, Julia.

so sorry you're feeling so crummy! not to offer yet another piece of advice but I've hear that the Digestion-Ginger Honey Tonic from New Chapter is really good for morning sickness.
oh, and I'm with Summer on the diaper duty thing.

Oh, that reminds me....
Since I'm post stomach-surgery, vomiting is verboten, while tummy is particularly sensitive. Someone suggested parsley tea. I've always used ginger for an upset tummy. Vit. C has worked well in the past.
I invented this concoction, and it's worked well. Especially since Michael seems to have ignored my post op instructions and appears to have shared his particularly nasty tummy virus with me:
4c hot (not boiling) water
3 green tea bags (decaf if you prefer)
1/2 chopped parsley
1 thumb-sized knob ginger, sliced, diced, and otherwise mashed. You can grate it too, but I like my knuckles, and it isn't necessary.
3 packages Continental Mills Alpine Cider (pure junk food, pure sugar, but it has a high Vit. C content, and it goes well with the overall flavor of the stuff.
I usually heat the water in the nuker in a 6c pyrex measure. Add the tea bags, parsley and ginger, muddle well, and then I cover and let sit for an hour. Yes, tea afficionados, this is taste heresy, but we're talking nutrition/medicine here.
Strain into some kind of glass recepticle (no plastic, it is a germ magnet, and gives off flavors which won't help the matter at hand), being sure to squeeze the parsley, tea bags and ginger dry. That's the stuff that helps the tummy.
Mix in the spiced cider mix. It does have some very fine particulate matter (very fine), so stir before drinking. I keep this in the fridge, it's about 1 1/2 days worth for me. Might be less for you.
Some people swear by preggie pops.
Holding out for a continuation of the good news...

Woo Hoo! Isn't seeing the heart just amazing?
I strongly second the B6 and Unisom. They worked wonders for me. I had tried everything ginger, preggy pops, crackers, younameit, and none of them worked...until the nurse clued me in to the magical combo of B6 and Unisom.

We'll take it! Everything sounds good!
Except the nausea part- that part is so awful. So, so awful. Does it make you feel any better at all to know that I feel that nausea sucks to high heaven? No, I didn't think so.

Faboo. As far as the nausea, ginger altoids got me through first tri without vomiting inappropriately. I found mine at Trader Joe's. Mine wasn't bad, though, yours sounds tortuous.

Amy in Motown - Ginger Altoids? I will be checking for those! I'm in MI, too - wonder if we live near the same Trader Joe's? LOVE that store!

Holy cow, they have TJ's in MI now???
Wow, soon I won't even have to check their website to know whether or not Dh can accept a job... Now if Whole Foods would spread as quickly.... ; )

Crystal - we've got THOSE, too! In face, the Whole Foods and Trader Joes near me are right across the street from each other!
Okay, Julia, I will no longer hijack your board! :)
