My last four Lupron shots have resulted in four spectacular stomach bruises. I accused Steve of sloppiness but he insists his performance standards are as high as ever and it is my abdomen's fault. I promised to ask you guys, since his bonus is riding on this. Is it usual to suddenly start bruising with Lupron?
I need to add some more stuff to my never-ending Things To Do/Bring/Freak About lists but I'll be back later (tonight, tomorrow... something like that) to talk about anything EXCEPT travel logistics or IVF. Sex maybe. Hey, here's a question I keep forgetting to ask my nurse. Are we allowed to have sex while we are cycling (now THERE'S some acrobatic imagery)- do you know?
It is entirely refreshing to see someone telling her readers to vote for the competition. Thanks for being one of the ones who keeps the whole award thing nice--the way it was meant to be.

Julia, I've been reading you for a long time and don't know if I've commented before. I love your writing, your humor, and your candor, and wish you the very best on this cycle.
Cecily is my best friend, and I just wanted to say thank you so much for what you did here...it is a very sweet and generous thing to do. As you well know, this has been an incredibly difficult time for her, so something like this can really help her feel good. Thank you.

Sex is definitely ok while cycling. But after a few days on stims your ovaries will be the size of small grapefruits, and you will not want anything resembling a .... ahem .... man near your gonads. The lovely wand is bad enough.
Get it while the gettin's good!

For optimum sperm quality, it's nice to obstain for 2-4 days before retrieval. And of course you're bruising from the Lupron--those are EXTRA doses, taken to force your body to fit the clinic's schedule. Your body should rebel--it's almost as evil as induction of labor!

sometimes i bruised and sometimes i didn't. same thing with my insulin shots. it is a mystery for me. :-)

You're sure the bruises are from the shots and not from the riding crop?
